a change of scenery

I just thought I'd share a few pictures from one of the girl's varsity volleyball games last week. It was so nice to see such a talented group of ladies on the court - doing what they love. I was amazed at the teamwork, love, and talent flowing throughout the gym. These gals were so fast that it was super hard to keep my camera in focus - but I did manage to get a few!

Welcome Back!

Where did the summer go? It seemed like only yesterday that students were chanting "No more teachers - No more books!" on their way out the door to enjoy a much needed break. The hallways were full of adorable smiling faces this morning as students rushed to find their new classrooms and old friends. I tried to take a few pictures outside the elementary entrance this morning -but was distracted by warm hugs and summer stories. Here are the few I managed to snap!

4th grade library party

The second installment of the wonderful fourth graders is here. This group of dedicated students broke a new class record of 3316 total AR points as a class! Unbelievable! And at the top of the list was Miss Courtney Cameron who is our big winner for the most AR points in her class. This is Courtney's second year winning this award! Way to go Courtney! We are super duper proud of you!

it's all about the 4th graders

Wednesday marked a big celebration day for fourth graders. They spent their entire morning enjoying a READ-A-THON where they listened to stories from various teachers, put on Reader's Theatre skits, and just relaxed in the Reading Room with their favorite pillow and book by their side. They even did an activity where they figured out how many words they read individually throughout the school year - many students were in the MILLIONS! As a whole, they achieved a phenomenal feat of 3,316 total Accelerated Reading points - a HUGE accomplishment and new record! Mrs. Wesson and I are so proud of their accomplishments. It is such a wonderful sight to see them snuggled with a good book!
